What culture? The name “For The Culture” came from a conversation about promoting and spreading knowledge about Sound System Culture, here in Cape Town. One way is through events such as fundraising parties, with the goal of building a sound system (as in speaker stack) from scratch. That project and sound system will be named “4TC”, short for “For The Culture”. The website is 4tc.capetown/soundsystem (it is a sub site of the one you are currently on).
Another culture we are working for is DJ culture, which means (to us) playing music for the love of it and to create a shared experience with and on the dance floor. So not for likes or views on social media, not for making clubs and promotors the maximum amount of money, and not for the DJs fame and fortune. This started as an idea to pool together resources for buying DJ equipment so that everyone can practice on decent gear. It will and is already in the process of growing into more and you can follow our story on 4tc.capetown/djcoop
